You know things are going well for the Eagles when they debate who the backup running back should be.

I’d love to see more of Shipley, mostly out of curiosity. But Gainwell doesn’t seem like a big problem to me. It never really exploded when Shipley got in there.

When will Jalen Hurts learn to throw the ball?

Sacks are definitely room for improvement. He has taken at least four goals in four of the last seven games. However, his abandonment is on par with the quarterbacks’ struggles. Hurts looked much better in this department this year than he did last year.

How good is Quinyon Mitchell and how did he fall to us in the draft?

I was really impressed by it. What could be a better question? Cooper DeJean fell to them in the second round. This year was my guy; When they went to work, I wanted him instead of Mitchell.

I didn’t think he would have a chance of making it to the second round. It was a strange draft. Too many quarterbacks and offensive linemen disrupted everything else. This was the kind of draft that would last a team ten years. Similar to Lito Sheppard/Sheldon Brown back in the day.

What’s the key to winning against Washington on Thursday night?

There is real interest in this game. Kliff Kingsbury did a great job with the Commanders rushing attack. Obviously it all starts with Jayden Daniels, but it’s a really impressive plot as a whole.

The Steelers and Ravens shut it down, and that’s where two of the Commanders’ three losses come from. The Eagles haven’t given up more than 100 yards rushing since the bye week. I’m not sure what Brian Robinson Jr.’s status will be for the game. It would be a big loss if he can’t play again.
