Ian Harding He plays a complete charmer. Hallmark+’s Holiday series – but even his connection to the town sheriff couldn’t save him from arrest.

While things start off innocently enough, Josh at one point finds himself in the back of Nora’s squad car — a scene that makes Harding realize that getting arrested in real life isn’t his thing.

Harding said filming in the police car was “fun” but he was worried it might have scared a few local kids who had no idea what happened that day.

“There were kids in the area where I was in the back of the police car,” he recalled. “I think the kids were going on a school trip and at one point I jumped out of the police car – from the back – and you could see they were unsure whether I was a fugitive or not.”

Although Harding’s character gets into trouble in the miniseries, which follows six different families over eight episodes, she has a heart of gold.

“He wins everything he tries. But he is also a very hard worker. He has a plan for his life and how things should look,” Harding said of Josh and his story. “He’s not an asshole by any means, but he has an expectation of how life and things should go.”

In one of these difficult situations, he crosses paths with Nora, whom he has known since childhood. After their encounter and Josh eventually meeting Nora’s son Theo (Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez), who you connect with home for the holidaysJosh needs to decide what he really wants from life.

“When we start the show we find it in one place and we find it in a completely different place,” Harding said. “There’s a lot of growth and funny pain to deal with.”

He quipped that the journey back to his parents’ cul-de-sac (where every other family at the intersection of the story is) was very unexpected, due to “some bullshit” and Josh’s own “incompetence”.

“I feel like there’s actually a meaningful connection missing from Josh’s life,” Harding said. WeHe notes that Josh’s encounter with Nora will shake up his life in a way that will continue beyond the holiday season.

Implying that Josh and Nora’s relationship was perhaps “destined,” she joked: “I don’t know who interacts with a cop and then learns what’s meaningful in life.”

In addition to the Hill family, which includes Josh and his parents, Lorriane (Gwynyth Walsh) and Sam (Barry W. Levy) — viewers will recognize the Manetti-Hanahan clan, the Lin family, the Lewin family, the Camarena crew and the Woods women.
