An inside look at the Dan River Falls reveals stunning progress and future plans

It’s easy to see progress beyond the future Dan River Falls. But now we can take a look at the changes inside this 100-year-old building.

Project development manager Dave Vos gave ABC 13 a tour of the 550,000-square-foot building.

“I’m super excited to bring people here,” Vos said.

With construction making significant progress each day, Vos is excited to have almost reached the finish line.

“I always say there are two exciting moments in the project. First, when it starts you see all the employees coming in and looking at all the work you’ve created with the project. The second point is when you actually see people move in and see the fruits of your labor,” Vos said.

Teams are currently trying to complete the interior. They focus on installing hardwood floors.

“They’re in pretty good shape on the third floor, and they’re moving to the second floor. We’re putting the finishing touches on it, and it’s really changed the character of the space,” Vos said.

The first floor will feature 147,000 square feet of commercial space, including restaurants and offices. The first floor will also include a community room, fitness center, mail room and more.

The other three floors will feature 150 apartment units with a fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer and more. Some are even two stories high and have storage areas nearby.

Vos said one of the best features is the large windows overlooking the Dan River. They plan to begin giving tours of the units in the next few weeks.

“Some people are a little hesitant about signing a lease before entering the apartment. So this is a really big milestone for us as well, getting people in and being able to see the footage,” Vos said. “The view is amazing and the location is incredible.”

With all the amazing growth and new projects going on in Danville, Dan River Falls adds an exclamation point to the city, Vos said.

“The completion of this project and the park surrounding the property adds a final touch to all the progress that has been made,” Vos said. he said.

The first set of apartments will be ready to move in by mid-December with all amenities. They plan to have a big ribbon cutting in early spring.
