While the roads were forcibly closed, ‘armed officers’ were seen at the scene of the police incident

Roads in the Marown neighborhood were closed as part of a police incident earlier this evening.

Eyreton Road was closed from Crosby Junction, while the whole of Crosby Backroad and the top of Glen Vine Road (to its junction with Ballagarey Road) were also closed.

Witnesses at the scene reported a large number of armed police and unmarked force vehicles in the area, but this was not confirmed by the Isle of Man Constabulary.

Photos taken in the region show that many police vehicles are at the scene.

A passerby told Media Isle of Man that a heavy police presence was seen around the Ballagarey estate.

A spokesman for the Isle of Man Constabulary gave no further details about the incident but said the police operation was now over.

They said: ‘Police officers were deployed to an incident near Eyreton Close, junction with Bromet Grove in Crosby.

‘This section of the road was closed to traffic for a short time until the incident was dealt with.

‘Police said no members of the public were at risk of harm.

‘The incident is over and the road has now reopened.’
