St. Wuollet Bakery on St. Paul’s Grand Avenue is closing its doors

A well-known St. Paul bakery will close after decades of service.

Wuollet Bakery tells 5 Eyewitness News it is closing its location on Grand Avenue.

This place has been in St. Petersburg for over 30 years. Paul and provided hungry residents with a variety of pastries as well as a wide variety of baked goods for all occasions.

An official statement from CEO Eric Shogren stated that the Grand Ave Bakery building was “in desperate need of repairs” and that the timing of closing the store was not ideal, but “it is necessary as we seek to recapitalize our business.”

However, Shogren said the company was in St. He hinted that he was considering reopening at a new location in St. Paul.

“Yes, unfortunately our St Paul Grand Ave retail store has been closed for over 30 years,” Shogren wrote to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. “Please stay tuned for news regarding the Grand Reopening of Wuollet elsewhere on Grand Ave in the near future.”

This closure follows the closure of the company’s other three locations — Hastings, Wayzata and downtown Minneapolis — earlier this year.
