TAMPA, Fla. – President-elect Donald Trump expected to be nominated Senator Marco Rubio related to Florida According to many published reports, he serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

New York Times first reported the potential pick Monday evening, and a source later told FOX News that Trump planned to offer the job to Rubio.

So far, Trump’s team has not made an official statement, but many of his Republican colleagues, including Sen. Rick Scott, have publicly congratulated Rubio.

“As he represents the United States with honor and courage, he will restore American leadership around the world, especially in Latin America!” wrote to Scott X.

Rubio is no stranger to Trump and the GOP

Rubio is a three-term U.S. Senator who has served in Congress since 2011, and if he holds the post, he would be the first Latino to serve as Secretary of State.

The senator was also a GOP opponent of Trump in the 2016 presidential primaries before dropping out of the race and supporting Trump.

Trump’s cabinet is taking shape after the election

Reports of Rubio’s potential candidacy come as President-elect Trump continues to shape his cabinet for his second term. Name of Florida Representative Mike Waltz As national security advisor.

Waltz is the second Republican House member to join the Trump Administration. Special elections must be held to replace vacant House seats.

But the process for filling a Senate seat is different. If Rubio joins the cabinet Governor Ron DeSantis will appoint a person who will serve until the 2026 midterm elections.
