HOUSTON – A call about a possible kidnapping led to a chase in Houston Monday night, police said.

Police said the incident began around 10 p.m., when police responded to a welfare check at a gas station for a 12-year-old girl, a possible kidnapping victim.

Officers found a vehicle matching the description, but the occupants fled from officers, police said.

It was reported that the pursuit lasted approximately 5 minutes after the suspects entered a neighborhood.

The car pulled into a garage in the 11900 block of Longwood Garden and the suspects ran into a home, authorities said.

Police detained several people and located the girl.

The incident is still under investigation.
