Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton talks about Manchester City’s run of four consecutive defeats on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club:

“By City’s standards, yes, it is a crisis. But unfortunately… a bad fortnight. That didn’t happen much when Pep Guardiola was in charge. The important thing is to find a way back.”

“Over the last 14 games the backline has been cut and changed every game. You think: ‘Manchester City, they’re all top quality players and they’ve got to be able to connect and have that understanding and they’re like, ‘You’re all great readers of the game.’

“But maybe there’s something about it that makes it seem like they’re not controlling the games like they did before.

“A big part of that might be Rodri’s absence, but I think cutting and switching might be part of the reason they’re struggling at the moment.”
