The actor spoke candidly with his guests about his love life in the latest episode of his self-titled talk show. martha stewartwhere they get romantically attached to the types of men they like and don’t want in their lives.

The conversation started with Barrymore asking the lifestyle mogul about her new style. Netflix documentaryspecifically a part of the document where Stewart talks about relationships.

“I loved how you thought about your marriage and your life, but I also loved how you talked about Charles and how you didn’t want to think about what he was going to say in that moment,” Barrymore said, referring to Stewart’s former tech billionaire. Charles Simonyi.

Stewart then turned to the studio audience and revealed in the documentary that he said: “I don’t care so much about how you feel, I care about what you do. And it’s always been that way, I’ve always cared about ‘what people do with themselves’.”

This point led Barrymore to ask Stewart if she had ever been with a “free man”.

“A man who does nothing?” he asked Barrymore before telling her emphatically no. “These don’t concern me,” he shared as the audience burst into laughter.

“I can’t recommend it,” Barrymore shared.

“I wouldn’t have thought of that!” said Stewart, to which Barrymore replied: “It took me being with an empty man to realize that my motto is ‘If you don’t work, we don’t work.'”

The talk show posted a clip of the conversation to Instagram, where fans were quick to acknowledge Barrymore’s dating policy.

“Great slogan! One fan said, “I’m going to steal this,” while another said, “Amen to this! .”

“I wouldn’t recommend it either! ,” said a third.
