JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating an armed robbery and shooting in a business parking lot.

The incident happened Monday on East County Line Road near the Burlington Coat Factory.

Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers told WLBT 3 On Your Side the victim was shot in the chest and ran to the KFC in nearby Ridgeland.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.

When WLBT crews arrived at the scene, they saw numerous bullet casings and cars with bullet holes.
