Kamala Harris seen with Joe Biden for first time since election loss

Kamala Harris was seen with Joe Biden for the first time since the Democrats’ humiliating defeat in the 2024 elections.

The US president laid a wreath on Monday to honor the nation’s fallen soldiers on Veterans Day, an event in which he appeared for the first time with the vice president since last week’s election defeat.

The ceremony, held at the historic Arlington National Cemetery across the Potomac River from Washington, is also the first time Harris has been seen in public since her speech on November 6, when she lost the presidential election to Donald Trump.

Facing a bitter reckoning for their torment, Democrats have begun internal debates about what caused Harris’ loss and some not-so-specific accusations; Some pointed to Biden’s initial insistence on running again at age 81, despite having promised to do so. To be the bridge leader to the next generation.

Earlier Monday, Biden hosted veterans at the White House to mark the holiday before the two presidents head to Arlington, the final resting place of generals and thousands of other military personnel from all of the United States’ major wars.

Wearing dark suits, Biden and Harris placed their hands over their hearts before attending a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The president spoke at the cemetery’s Memorial Amphitheater and thanked veterans for their service and sacrifice.

The ceremony took place before Biden hosts Trump at the White House on Wednesday.

The Republican began electing people loyal to his new administration.

He announced that he would bring back Tom Homan, a hardline immigration official, to serve as his so-called “border czar” and right-wing congresswoman Elise Stefanik to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

Trump has long claimed to be an ardent supporter of the American military but has made a number of controversial comments about veterans.

Retired general John Kelly, the longest-serving chief of staff in the White House, said the Republican leader had private disdain for U.S. soldiers and described those who died or were imprisoned defending America as “suckers” and “losers.”
