Pastor John Paul Miller will appear in court again in December about an attack and battery charge It stemmed from an altercation with a woman protesting outside Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach.

Protesters had been at the church since his wife, Mica Miller, committed suicide on April 27.

The lawyer who represented Mica’s family in June “Mika’s Law” was introduced at the real estate hearing.

A law intended to protect people from the coercive control of another.

Mica’s family stated in the court that Mika He suffered ‘harassment and violence’ from his wife.

ABC15 spoke with Mica’s family’s attorney on Monday about the FBI investigation and the latest arrest.

John Paul Miller is out on bail on this assault charge, and it’s been two weeks since the FBI conducted “court-authorized law enforcement activity” at his home.

The FBI wouldn’t say why they were at Miller’s house.

ABC15 asked Mica’s family’s attorney, Regina Ward, what she knows about the investigation.

Ward told ABC15 that prior to the search, he was asked to turn over documents related to Mika to the FBI.

“Some of the documents that were provided were material that we had talked about all along – and these were Mica’s diaries – different records – things that she had put together to give me as she was getting ready to go to court regarding the separate alimony and alimony case,” said Regina Ward.

He said the next steps toward Mica’s Law are efforts to put together what he hopes will be a version of the coercive control bill.

He said he didn’t know whether the documents he turned over were the sole reason for the FBI’s search, but he believed they played a role.

John Paul has not been charged with any crime in Mica’s death.
