Customers still being charged for temporarily closed Springfield car wash

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Customers tell On Your Side they are still being charged a monthly membership fee at a car wash that appears to be closed.

KY3’s On Your Side has options for those who are constantly bored. On Your Side has been trying to get answers from McBee’s Coffee N’ Carwash customers since mid-October.

After a few emails, calls, and a Facebook message, we got some answers.

“Everyone in the car goes and gets free drinks,” customer Kimberly Wilson said. “Free vacuum cleaners. Seems like a good deal.”

Wilson and his two dogs were regulars on West Kearney Street. The membership fee was charged to her account on Oct. 2, but she told On Your Side that she hasn’t had a single wash done in the past month.

Every time he went up it felt like the place was closed. KY3 didn’t see anyone there on Monday.

“My husband said: Why didn’t they mow their lawn? It’s like 12 inches long,” Wilson said.

She and other customers told On Your Side they tried to get a refund but couldn’t reach anyone.

“I tried calling the one in Springfield. I tried calling the one in Liberty. I emailed the website,” Wilson said.

Wilson withdrew the money from his account because he could not reach anyone. On October 30, he received a message from McBee saying his card was declined.

The website says to cancel your membership, visit the nearest location.

“There’s a lot of trouble for something that had to be canceled on the Internet or at least with a phone call,” Wilson said.

On Your Side began asking questions on October 22; We sent multiple emails, called several numbers, and sent a Facebook message. On Your Side received this statement Monday afternoon through the company’s attorney. It says in part:

We have decided to remodel the Springfield location with a new venture scheduled to open within the next six months. All active McBee’s Coffee N Carwash LLC Springfield memberships were proactively canceled one month prior to our closing and recurring charges were discontinued.

Your Side asked when did the business close? We were told October 4th.

Memberships were canceled a month ago, meaning Wilson should not have been charged on October 2.

“If only they would give us back our money for October. That’s all I want. I’ll go to another car wash. It’s something that’s been around for a while,” Wilson said.

The statement continued as follows: If any member encounters a billing issue, we are committed to resolving it quickly. Customers can contact us directly via email at [email protected]; We will prioritize necessary refunds.

Angry customers can file complaints. Better Business Bureau And Missouri Attorney General.

By the way, this company has an ‘F’ rating from the BBB.

You can always talk to your credit card company to see if you can dispute the charge and prevent a recurring charge.

One customer told On Your Side that her credit card offers the option to block a recurring payment. Thus, he managed to avoid the November fee.
