    Jack Del Rio Resigns from Wisconsin CFB Staff After Arrest on OWI Charges | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats and Rumors

    Former NFL coach Jack Del Rio, who served as a senior advisor to Wisconsin football head coach Luke Fickell this season, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into a street sign and fence, according to ESPN. Adam Rittenberg.

    Madison police said Del Rio “showed signs of impairment.”

    “We take matters like this very seriously and continue to gather information,” Wisconsin said in a statement through Rittenberg.

    Fickell announced Monday that he was resigning following Del Rio’s arrest:

    Before joining Wisconsin this season, Del Rio spent more than two decades in the NFL (1997-98) as the strength and conditioning coach for the New Orleans Saints; Baltimore Ravens as linebackers coach (1999-01); Carolina Panthers as defensive coordinator (2002); Jacksonville Jaguars as head coach (2003-11); Denver Broncos as defensive coordinator (2012-14); then head coach of the Oakland Raiders (2015-17); and as the then-Washington Football Team defensive coordinator (2020-23).

    He went 93-94 as head coach and led his team to three playoff appearances but only one postseason win.

    Fickell he told reporters He was bringing Del Rio on board as a consultant to gain a “football coach’s perspective” ahead of the 2024 campaign.
