Combs remains behind bars after arrest bail denied by two different federal judges. in september accused on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

In a Nov. 8 bail request obtained by PEOPLE, Combs’ attorneys argue the prosecution’s case is “weak.” The defense cites a March 2016 video cited in the initial indictment against the Bad Boy Records founder, showing him violently assaulting a woman at a Los Angeles hotel.

“The video is not evidence of a forced ‘frenzy,’ but rather a glimpse into a few minutes of the complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr. Combs and Victim 1,” Combs’ lawyers said in the filing.

The indictment focuses on the following allegations: “freaks” Prosecutors allege these were highly planned sex shows organized by Combs, in which women were coerced or coerced into participating along with male sex workers.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all the charges he faces. His lawyers had previously recommended a bail package of $50 million. But two judges refused to release the highly influential emperor from custody, citing potential witness tampering.

Combs’ lawyers are again demanding their client’s release with a bail offer they say is “much more robust than the previous offer.”

The defense team is proposing home detention with 24-hour security monitoring and “almost complete restrictions” on Combs’ ability to communicate with anyone other than his attorneys.

Combs is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, which his lawyers call “unsuitable for pretrial detention.”

Mongol’s trial is scheduled for May 2025.
