Maryland man wanted after ghost guns recovered from his home

A man is wanted out of southern Maryland and is facing multiple weapons charges and assault charges after authorities found 80 firearms, including 3D-printed guns, in his home.

In a statement from the sheriff’s office, St. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a home in Lexington Park on Thursday night regarding a domestic assault. newsletter.

The suspect, Jerod Adam Taylor, fled the scene before authorities arrived, but during the investigation, deputies found multiple guns, and Taylor was not allowed to possess those guns due to prior convictions. The sheriff’s office said Taylor was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft.

The next day, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division searched the home and nearby vehicles, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Describing their findings as a “large collection of weapons,” officials said they found numerous 3D-printed “ghost guns” without serial numbers, semi-automatic rifles, handguns, shotguns, AK-47 semi-automatic rifles and more.

Investigators also found large-capacity magazines, 18 suppressors, 74 automatic firing devices, or devices that convert semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic firearms.

Investigators also found more than 1,300 rounds of ammunition, body armor, a 3D-printed fully automatic rifle with an automatic adjustment, a short-barreled rifle, 3D printers and numerous gun manufacturing tools, the news release said.

What is a ghost gun?

According to the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, a ghost gun is a specially made gun that does not have a serial number on the frame or receiver.

St. Taylor, who is wanted out of St. Mary’s County, faces multiple charges, including:

  • Unlawful possession of an offensive weapon for sale
  • Illegal possession of a detached magazine for ten rounds
  • Rapid fire trigger activator violation
  • Failure to keep the machine gun registered
  • Possession of a machine gun for an offensive purpose
  • Unlawful possession of a regulated firearm
  • Possession of a rifle or shotgun by a disqualified person
  • Possession of an unlicensed rifle or shotgun
  • second degree assault

The sheriff’s office said about the 39-year-old suspect: “Taylor has not been located and should be considered armed and dangerous.”

The sheriff’s office said Taylor has light skin, brown hair, brown eyes, weighs 150 pounds and is 6 feet tall.

“If you spot him, do not approach him, but call 911 immediately,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
