Half-Life Black Mesa team announces next game that will put players in the middle of a gun-filled corporate war

The team behind Black Mesa Valve’s fan-made reimagining of Half-Life has announced its next game.

It’s called Rogue Point, and developer Crowbar Collective describes it as a “rogue-lite tactical cooperative shooter” that will offer a “strategic approach to high-octane combat.”

All of this will see players unlock a variety of weapons and cosmetics to aid them as they shoot through a “dynamic campaign” (the developer promises no two games will be the same).

Rogue Point’s official blurb begins: “The CEO, the richest man in the world, is dead.” “Ruthless conglomerates seek to tear apart his kingdom. Using the MERX app, rival businessmen can order private mercenary armies as easily as ordering a purge! Only Rogue Point, an elite, independent vigilante team, dares fight back.” “

Players will need to do their best to eliminate MERX and “put an end to the corporate war” that is plaguing society. This can be done with up to four people forming a team of justice-seeking gunslingers.

Project lead Adam Engels thanked Rogue Point partner Team 17 today, saying: “We’re looking forward to delving deeper into the game and everything we’ve learned creating a new IP (as well as turning Crowbar Collective into a full-time development studio). ” in the process.

“Just like Black Mesa, we want to heavily involve our community in our development and updates. Our community was critical to Black Mesa’s Early Access, and having Team 17 as a partner of Rogue Point helps us focus on development and community feedback! “

We called Crowbar’s past work a “masterful remake that improves on a classic.” Eurogamer’s Half-Life: Black Mesa review. I hope Rogue Point achieves the same standard.
