WWE has had a strangely slow start in announcing matches for its Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event on November 30, with only one match officially scheduled to this point.

A few creative directions hint at what some of the matches could be, including a big main event pitting a reunited faction against a faction that dominated post-WrestleMania 40.

The Lineage Goes to War in the Optimum Main Event

Following WrestleMania 40, Solo Sikoa’s hostile takeover of The Bloodline and recruitment of new members Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu was met with opposition from Roman Reigns, who returned at SummerSlam in August.

Since then, Reigns has battled the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief for control of the family, but has often found himself outmatched due to a clear numerical disadvantage.

The return of Jimmy Uso and his reunion with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn evened the odds and set in motion what will be the main event of the upcoming spectacular, which sees the OG Bloodline battle the revamped incarnation of Sikoa within the brutal confines of WarGames.

There are many storylines, including the trust (or lack thereof) in the Babyface crew and the potential return of Paul Heyman.

The match took months to produce and was seemingly tailor-made for WarGames. Things built steadily until the moment when the original Bloodline came together to thwart the challenge of an evil entity intent on seizing the legacy of one of wrestling’s most storied families and changing it forever.

The expansive Bloodline saga has been going on for four years and continues to write new chapters. It’s epic in its breadth and the number of artists and characters who rise to stardom.

This is on full display in this anticipated match as Zayn, Uso and the entire heel side rise to new levels of recognition due to their participation.

This would be right at home on a WrestleMania card, but luckily for WWE fans, they don’t have to wait until mid-April to see what happens when the two sides finally resolve their differences, or at least try to do so.

The Continued Rise of Damian Priest

Damian Priest became the world heavyweight champion by cashing in his men’s Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 40.

During his run, he began to develop the confidence and presence needed to hold that position on the card…just in time to drop the title to Gunther at SummerSlam as part of his babyface stance and excommunication from The Judgment Day.

Since then, Priest has exorcised his past demons and focused his attention on regaining a title he should never have lost, defeating Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus and Seth Rollins in a Fatal 4-Way match to earn a shot against The No. 1 contender. Bell General.

Although the match has not yet been officially announced, Survivor Series is likely to host The Archer of Infamy’s title shot against Gunther.

Priest has proven to be an in-ring competitor in their previous encounters; He pushed Gunther to his limits, countering his attack-heavy offense with his own hard-hitting, grappling-heavy arsenal. The two styles mesh well together, and if the match has a chance to develop without the interference that plagued the first, this could possibly be a hidden gem on a strong Survivor Series card.

This is another step in Priest’s rise from the quiet, bodyguard type as part of Doomsday to the charismatic, main event babyface we see today, benefiting the company as a whole with the introduction of another legitimate star.
