WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) — A fatal car crash early Sunday morning left one person dead and another in critical condition, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Waterbury Police Department.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of a two-car collision at the intersection of Baldwin Street and Lounsbury Street.

Upon arrival, police identified the two drivers involved as a 22-year-old male and a 32-year-old male, both Waterbury residents.

Each driver was alone in their vehicle at the time of the accident.

The teenage driver, later identified as Jayden Gonzalez, was transported to a local hospital but died from his injuries shortly after arrival.
