Trevor Lawrence won’t play against Vikings, could miss rest of season

The ups and downs of news and information regarding quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s status for Sunday’s game against the Vikings have been crazy, but a new report on Sunday morning says Lawrence won’t play and could miss the rest of the season.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Lawrence suffered a “serious AC joint sprain” in his throwing shoulder. He says Lawrence will at least play for Sunday’s Vikings-Jaguars game in Jacksonville.

With Lawrenced sidelined, the Jaguars will turn to backup quarterback Mac Jones.

The Jaguars have a lengthy injury report ahead of their game at 11 p.m. CT, but ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler says wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) and Gabe Davis will play despite both being listed as questionable. Running backs Tank Bigsby (ankle) and Travis Etienne (hamstring) are expected to play.

But wide receiver Devin Duvernay (hamstring) showed up on the injury report over the weekend with a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable despite being a full practice practice participant all week. Third-string running back D’Ernest Johnson is also questionable with a hamstring injury.
