Raygun Gave a Surprise Performance in the Days After He Announced His Retirement

Australian break dancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn performed viral Olympic routine on stage days after announcement pension.

37-year-old Gunn appeared on stage with the Australian singer Tones and me The star sang “Dance With Me” at her concert in Melbourne on Saturday.

Tones and I, whose real name is Toni Watson, is best known for her 2019 single “Dance Monkey.”

One video In a portion of the routine posted on Watson’s Instagram account, Gunn showed off some of the moves that were criticized after his elimination in the two-round stage of the final competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Raygun is the most beautiful, kindest, lively person I have ever met. It was an honor to celebrate you last night,” Watson wrote in the video’s caption.

“Thank you for sharing the stage with me and bringing smiles to so many faces. There is always a friend in me. Tons,” he added.

In another video shared on Gunn’s Instagram Story, Gunn can be seen teaching Watson’s dancers some of his viral moves, including moves that Olympic fans liken to kangaroo leaps.

The performance came days after Gunn said he now only dances “in my living room.”

“Of course I was going to keep racing but coming close to a fight seems like a really difficult thing for me to do at the moment,” Gunn told Sydney radio station 2DayFM on Wednesday. “I still dance and I still break, but it’s like I’m in my living room with my partner.”

“It’s going to be there and people are going to film it, it’s going to be online and it’s not going to mean the same thing, it’s not going to be the same experience because of everything that’s at stake,” he added.

However, Gunn’s recent performance has left fans wondering if he has changed his mind about retirement.

Gunn reposted a video of an audience member who wrote that the Olympian was “not retiring.”

“He is loud, proud and such a routine person,” they added.

Representatives for Gunn did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment, sent outside normal business hours.
