EL SERENO, Calif. (KCAL/KCBS) – Police detained a naked man who was discovered living under a 93-year-old grandmother’s home in Los Angeles.

The grandmother, who lives alone, told family members that she had been hearing voices underneath her house for months. His grandson said he thought it was probably an animal.

However, on Thursday night, the family heard loud noises coming from under the house and called the police. Officers arrived to find a man underneath the house. He initially refused to come out but surrendered hours later.

The victim’s grandson said officers found blankets and food under the house and believed the man had entered at night and left in the morning.
