A South Carolina woman woke up to find a snake behind her toilet.

The snake was not his pet. He had never seen this reptile in his life. He didn’t know where it came from, what kind of snake it was, or even how it might have gotten into his home. According to the local publication, around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, a loud cry for help was heard at the woman’s apartment complex. State.

The Columbia resident called her friend first, and together they decided the best course of action was to contact law enforcement. The sheriff’s department said Deputy Shannon Huffman, who responded to the call and has experience with many animals, “knew exactly what to do.”

“This was certainly a unique call to service for us,” said Acting Master Alexandra Salrin. State.

Although police are often contacted regarding animal-related matters, cases involving such exotic animals are rare. Yet law enforcement officers are trained to face a wide variety of situations.

“We were able to save the snake’s life by providing a quick solution to the citizens,” Salrin said.

Law enforcement officials said the snake was assumed to be someone’s pet due to its size, but no specific information was provided about its length. No one has reached out to claim the snake yet. It is still unclear to the police how the snake got into the woman’s home.
