BCCI Confirms India Will Not Travel to Pakistan for 2025 ICC Champions Trophy

New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will have no option but to hold the ICC Champions Trophy in ‘Hybrid Model’ as BCCI hinted to the global body about India’s inability to travel to the neighboring country. As reported earlier, India will play all their matches in Dubai and the high-profile India-Pakistan match will also be held in the UAE.

“This is an ICC event and the BCCI has informed the global body that it will not be traveling to Pakistan. It will be up to the ICC to inform the host nation about the developments and then finalize the schedule of the tournament. The convention will be held by a source from the BCCI on terms of anonymity,” a source from the BCCI told PTI on conditions of anonymity. “Announce the schedule 100 days before the start of the event.” PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi told a press conference that the board had not received any official communication from the BCCI, but it was the prerogative of the ICC as the main organisers, to inform Pakistan about the latest development.

The PCB maintained that it had not received any official communication from the global body either. Naqvi, who is also the federal home minister in his country’s current regime, also said that if India does not come to Pakistan, it will have to consult its government for further instructions.

With the highest capacity among the three stadiums, it is understandable that Dubai is the best venue for India matches and after hosting the Women’s Championship, all the necessary infrastructure is in good shape. T20 World Cup last month.
