How did we grade Georgia football, from offense to coaching, after the loss to Ole Miss?

OXFORD, Miss. Georgia football On Saturday, they lost their second away game this season, losing to No. 12. ole miss 28-10 upset.

The No. 2 Bulldogs had won 16 in a row before losing at Alabama on Sept. 28, and now they’ve lost two of their last three home games against an opponent, with a win at Texas in the mix.

Here’s how we ranked the Bulldogs:

Offensive D

Gathering 245 yards and 10 points against a team that lost 20 to Kentucky and 14 to Oklahoma on the same field this season doesn’t count as achieving that. Georgia punted on five straight possessions in the first half after scoring a short field TD.

Defense C

Hold ole miss 397 yards doesn’t seem too out of control against a big time offense, but the defense needed to dig more given the offensive struggles. Ole Miss had six pass plays of 20 or more yards.

Special teams B-

Arian Smith returned a punt at the 1-yard line with Brett Thorson making it two points at the 20. Georgia missed running back Anthony Evans. Cash Jones failed to control the ball before taking a 5-yard return in the first quarter.

Coaching D

Kirby Smart said in his postgame press conference that Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss outplayed Georgia. Georgia looked overly conservative on offense in the first half, perhaps worried about Carson Beck’s late interceptions.

General D

Georgia couldn’t muster more than three points in the second half when it needed to rally. The Bulldogs looked like a team going through a tough schedule away from home.
