I’ve been taking vitamin D for 10 months and the differences are life-changing

According to Healthline, your body naturally produces vitamin D when exposed to direct sunlight.

However, vitamin D deficiencies are becoming common in the UK due to reduced sunlight exposure during the winter months.

Although you can get the vitamin from some foods, many experts and the UK Government recommend taking a daily supplement from October to March.

I wasn’t doing this until 10 months ago when a blood test showed I was vitamin D deficient.

Symptoms of this vitamin deficiency include fatigue, aches, pains and muscle weakness.

From that day on, I started taking supplements. Vitabioticsand I’ve never felt better.

Healthline notes that vitamin D has many benefits for the body, including supporting a healthy immune system and increasing resistance to some diseases.

It may also help regulate mood, promote weight loss, and reduce the likelihood of serious illness.

My most common symptom was fatigue, and even a SAD lamp couldn’t combat that, especially during the dark winter months.

I only take one vitamin D tablet a day, but this depends on the brand you choose.

This too has different strengths but I chose the optimum level available at my local supermarket.

There hasn’t been a day where I’ve forgotten to take the tablet and both my mood and fatigue levels have improved dramatically. Now I can go the whole day without needing a nap and my skin is clearer too.

My entire family now takes the supplement and we continue to do so all year round.

I take my small tablet with food because it is fat-soluble and taking it with food may help the body absorb it better.

Healthline said: “If you take excessive amounts of vitamin D supplements, you may get too much.

“But this is unlikely to happen through diet or sun exposure because your body regulates the amount of vitamin D produced through sun exposure.”

Be sure to consult an expert before starting to take supplements to find out which one is best for you.
