Two men have been given public spirit awards by the Singapore Police Force for helping to disarm the man who stabbed a Catholic priest during mass at St Joseph’s Church in Upper Bukit Timah.
The attacker attacked Father Christopher Lee on Saturday evening, November 9. Police said they did not suspect it was an act of terrorism and there was no evidence it was religiously motivated.
At a press conference in the early hours of Sunday, police showed off five weapons seized from the suspect, including the folding knife used in the attack.
The man will be charged on Nov. 11 with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm with a dangerous weapon.
