Clemson keeps ACC title hopes alive with win over Virginia Tech

Clemson defeated Virginia Tech 24-14 on Saturday night in Blacksburg.

The Tigers trailed 7-0 at halftime, but the Hokies did not score an offensive goal in this game until 1:43 remained on the clock. . Clemson had one of its best defensive performances of the season against a Virginia Tech team that had a great offensive performance this season.

Win guaranteed Clemson still has a chance to make the ACC Championship Game. Miami’s loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday also helped. If the Tigers win and Miami loses another game, Clemson will be in position to play for the conference title.

Cade Klubnik had a great performance in the second half of the win. All 3 of the goal passes came after the break. He also rushed for 30 yards in the win.

Defensively, Clemson decided to shake things up by starting true freshman linebacker Sammy Brown. This adjustment worked extremely well as Virginia Tech managed 40 total rushing yards on the day.

Clemson is 7-2 on the season and has only 1 ACC game remaining this year: Nov. 16 at Pitt.
