OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police released body camera footage showing an officer taking a 70-year-old man to the ground, who was later taken to the hospital.

The incident, which occurred on October 17, started after an argument over a traffic violation.

During the confrontation, the elderly man “suffered serious injuries requiring hospitalization,” police said.

As a result, the office was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the police investigation. The findings will be presented to the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office.

“There’s a lot of room for excessive use of force, and I think we’re harmed by that as a society,” said Thuan Nguyen, president-elect of the Vietnamese-American Community of Oklahoma. News from KOCO.
