More gold for Breget

Vernon athlete Winter Breget is racking up more wins at prestigious Brazilian jiu jitsu events.

His most recent victory came at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) No-Gi PAN Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, where he bested five other athletes to win his bracket.

Breget was in a group of 37 people who weighed less than 162 lbs. He got a bye in his first match, then fought five matches, submitting all his opponents in under two minutes and scoring no points against him, making him the purple belt, lightweight men’s champion.

Previously Briget won the title He is also a blue belt.

On September 21, Breget competed at the IBJJF Portland Open in Portland.

She entered four divisions and won seven matches by submission and one by points, bringing home four gold medals.

The jiu jitsu phenom trains at Pacific Top Team Vernon and ATOS Headquarters in San Diego.

Breget won the championship despite a medical condition in which his body did not sweat.
