Ole Miss announces team captains for crucial showdown against No. 3 Georgia

Ole Miss is playing its most important football game of the season today.

The Rebels face No. 3 Georgia in their final bid for a CFP berth on the line. If Lane Kiffin’s team can’t make it happen, they’ll likely be out of the Field 12 race. If they win, they will be in a tight pursuit with 3 weeks of football.

On Saturday, Ole Miss announced that Caden Prieskorn, Nate Kalepo and JJ Pegues will serve as team captains for the Rebels in this top-25 race.

The trio, all seniors, will lead the Rebels to their best win of the season and perhaps the best win of the Lane Kiffin era.

Pegues, of course, is Ole Miss’ goal-line specialist and monster defender. He collected 2.5 sacks in total while trying to score 32 steals in defense and 6 goals in offense.

Prieskorn and Kalepo contribute to the attack. The former has 17 receptions for 274 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while the latter bolsters a strong Ole Miss offensive line.

Ole Miss and Georgia will kick off at 3:30 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ABC.
