Authorities say suspect was shot after attacking Pinellas County deputies with a semi-automatic handgun

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.Pinellas County St. Deputies shot a gunman who attacked them Friday night, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigation Task Force was activated to investigate the shooting.

Authorities said deputies responded to a domestic incident at 2501 47th Avenue North around 10:30 p.m. When they arrived, deputies said a 37-year-old woman met them outside with a young boy and girl.

According to the young girl, her mother’s roommate, Jeremy Lyle Reed (42), pointed a gun at her inside the house.

Investigators said Reed left the house with a gun and ran toward deputies and the victims.

Three deputies fired at Reed, hitting him, according to authorities. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and no one else was injured, officials said.
