Steve Kerr Made a Statement After the Warriors’ Big Loss Against the Cavaliers

The Golden State Warriors suffered a blowout defeat to the undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, snapping their five-game winning streak. Cleveland entered this game with a series-best 9-0 record and improved to 10-0 with a win over Golden State.

Trailing by 41 points in the first half, the Warriors couldn’t do anything offensively in this game and struggled even more on the defensive end. There were a few bright spots for the Warriors; Jonathan Kuminga scored 21 points off the bench and Brandin Podziemski added 14 off the bench, but the starting group, led by Steph Curry, dug the team into a hole they could not escape from.

Things don’t get any easier for the Warriors as they now face a 7-1 storming of Oklahoma City at the Paycom Center on Sunday.

Addressing this issue after the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an honest statement.

“We have to respond,” Kerr said. “We need to train tomorrow. We need to perform better. We had 13 turnovers in the first half. We were completely disorganized. I think that’s where we need to work the most.”

Although Golden State of course wants this win, no one has been able to beat the Cavaliers yet this season. Sunday’s game against OKC will be a great recovery opportunity for the Warriors.
