Lethbridge Hurricanes beat Moose Jaw Warriors 7-3

The Lethbridge Hurricanes opened a close game by scoring three goals in the first two minutes of the third period to defeat the Warriors 7-3 in Moose Jaw on Friday night.

After the Hurricanes took a 2-0 lead on first-period goals from Hayden Pakkala and Logan Wormald, Moose Jaw got back in the middle frame with a pair from Brayden Yager and Owen Berge.

The Hurricanes broke the tie 20 seconds into the third quarter and got a point from Jackson Unger. Brayden Edwards and Noah Chadwick quickly followed, and the Hurricanes took a 5-2 lead that later increased when Edwards scored again.

Aiden Ziprick reduced the score to 6-3, but Shane Smith restored the four-goal advantage for the Hurricanes as they claimed their second straight win.

This was also the first overtime game in which the Hurricanes would play nine games in nine different arenas.

Next up is Sunday afternoon in Brandon against the Wheat Kings. For this, puck distribution will take place at 1 p.m., and then the two teams will do it again at 1:30 p.m. on Memorial Day.
