Rangers board blamed for ‘off-pitch unrest’

During this period when the Scottish giants have had a turbulent season, the Rangers board of directors is held responsible for the unrest off the field.

Talking about the latest issue Football Insider’s Inside Track podcastFormer Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson admitted people are now “wondering who is making the decisions about the manager’s future”.

Clement’s future has been called into question recently, with Rangers sitting third after the first 10 games of the season, nine points behind Celtic.

Football Insider As the pressure on results began to mount, he revealed that the 50-year-old was just one play away from the sack.

However, there is just as much unrest off the field due to the financial problems the club is currently facing.

The club’s net losses have risen by £4.1 million to £17.2 million in 2023-24, with the Scottish giants currently operating at a loss every season.

Rangers are currently in turmoil on and off the pitch

“Aberdeen’s loss would be disappointing” Robinson told Football Insider.

“There’s a lot more unrest off the pitch at Rangers, even though they’re so many points away from Celtic, they’re not where they want to be.

“You wonder about club ownership, the boardroom where the manager is, who makes the decisions about the manager’s future.

“They are definitely not where they want to be; For Philipp Clement, every match right now is a big match for his future.

“There will always be questions if he is not getting results.

“He needs to handle things consistently because you think they’ve turned the corner and then the results change again.

“The players’ performances have been indifferent, basically they are not good enough this season and inevitably they start with the manager.”
