Texas Woman Who Left Her Home Without Her Phone or Car Was Found Safe: Police

Melonie BallengerA Texas woman who disappeared from her home without her phone or car has been found safe, according to authorities.

The Wylie Police Department said in a statement: Facebook A post stating that Melonie, 46, was found near Abby Lane and Tyler Trail, a few miles from her home in Wylie, around 5:15 p.m. local time on Friday, Nov. 8.

Police said a resident found Melonie “severely dehydrated but otherwise in good health.” He was then “taken to a hospital for treatment” and “reunited with his family,” according to authorities.

“We want to thank everyone who worked around the clock to find him. Please respect the family’s privacy as they are reunited with their loved ones,” police said in a statement. The police wrote, adding that the investigation into the woman’s disappearance is still ongoing.

Police previously found Melonie last seen at home On Sunday, November 3, at 22:00. She was later reported missing by her husband, Daniel Ballenger, around 6.30am on Monday, November 4th.

Her husband previously told the CBS affiliate KTVT he and his wife fell asleep, but when he woke up the next morning, he was gone. He said he called police after trying to find him and the couple’s daughter, Melonie, but was unsuccessful.

Daniel also told ABC affiliate WFAA He said his wife also left without her wallet, money and necessary medications. While he added to KTVT that Melonie was scheduled to have heart surgery, family members said she stayed home on Nov. 3 because she felt sick.

On Nov. 7, Wylie Sgt. Donald English tells PEOPLE that the Texas Department of Public Safety issued a Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert and was “investigating various locations and following leads” for Melonie.

He added that authorities were reviewing footage from several Ring cameras as they tried to retrace Melonie’s steps.

According to the report, a prayer vigil for Melonie was held at Gateway Community Church on Tuesday, November 5.Wylie News.

“I think he was surprised there were so many people here, but I think he would have been touched,” Daniel told WFFA at the time. “I’ve probably gone through a month’s worth of emotions in the last day and a half; I’ve cried a lot, I’ve prayed a lot.”
