QUINCY — A traffic stop in Quincy Friday afternoon led to the arrest of two men suspected of committing a string of thefts and fraud at local banks in the area.

Adams County deputies were pursuing a vehicle determined to be involved in the crimes and stopped at 41st and Broadway around 1:15 p.m. The driver was Laura Fowler, 37, of Quincy. and the passenger was Jeffrey Horton, 33, of Moline.

Fowler was charged with fraud, theft and forgery. Horton faces charges of theft, fraud and forgery, as well as illegal possession of marijuana and illegal possession of alcohol.

Both are being held without bail in the Adams County Jail and are due in court Monday.
