A student preparing for the NEET exam in Kanpur endured a harrowing six-month-long ordeal in which she was allegedly harassed and imprisoned by two of her teachers, according to police reports released on Saturday.

The disturbing events began in December 2022, when the student was reportedly lured by teacher Sahil Siddiqui to a flat under false pretenses, where he was drugged and assaulted. Co-accused Vikas Porwal allegedly participated in the crime later, with charges of rape, false imprisonment and intimidation levied against them under the provisions of the IPC and POCSO Act.

The student, who was initially hesitant to report the crimes out of fear for his family, found courage after seeing video evidence of similar inappropriate behavior by Siddiqui. The case highlights serious security concerns in educational environments.
