According to his wife, Nitin had been struggling to find acting work for about 3-4 years, which was causing serious stress in his life. He tried to run an ice cream business to support his family, which included his wife and young daughter. However, the failure of the venture increased his financial concerns.

Senior Inspector Ajay Afle of Dindoshi police station stated that Chauhaan was probably dealing with depression due to lack of acting opportunities and financial pressure from his unsuccessful business.

“During our preliminary investigation, we learned that Nitin Chauhaan had not been able to get work in the industry for years and that was why he was depressed,” Afle said.

On Thursday evening, Nitin’s wife and daughter went to a park near their residential complex. When they returned, they saw that the apartment door was locked from the inside, which caused concern. He opened the door using the spare key, but found that the door was also locked.

She managed to break open the door but found her husband hanging from the ceiling fan. Acting quickly, he lowered her to the ground and tried CPR before calling an ambulance. However, his efforts were futile and he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police investigation continues

Dindoshi police have registered a case of accidental death and are currently investigating the case. The autopsy report is awaited to confirm the cause of death.

Nitin Chauhaan first gained popularity after winning the reality show ‘Dadagiri 2’. Later, he appeared as a contestant in the reality show ‘Splitsvilla 5’, which aired on MTV.

Apart from reality TV, he has appeared in television series such as ‘Crime Patrol’, ‘Zindagi.com’ and ‘Friends’. His last acting role was in the serial ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ which aired on Sab TV.
