SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WALAA 69-year-old Crestview, Fla., man was killed and a woman seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Santa Rosa County Friday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash, which injured all three people, occurred near mile marker 23 on eastbound I-10 shortly after 4 p.m.

According to FHP, a sedan driven by a 75-year-old Milton, Florida, woman was behind an SUV driven by a 72-year-old Milton woman, both of whom were traveling in the outside lane of I-10. Troopers said the driver of the SUV reduced his speed due to other slowing traffic, but the driver of the sedan did not slow down in time and crashed into the back of the SUV.

The left rear passenger of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. A 64-year-old Crestview woman who was also a passenger in the SUV was seriously injured. Meanwhile, the driver and a third passenger (a 63-year-old woman, also from Milton) suffered minor injuries, according to FHP.

The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries, police said.
