Oppo Find X8 Series to launch in India: Expected price, specifications and more

Oppo is gearing up to launch its latest flagships, Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, in India soon, likely soon after launching them globally in the coming weeks. The Find X8 series has already been launched in China. This is a flagship series and both phones come equipped with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9400 chipset and a quad-camera setup tweaked by Hasselblad.

Once the China launch is complete, the big question is when will Oppo launch its flagship phones to global markets? Although the brand hasn’t confirmed any dates yet, we expect the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro to arrive in the coming weeks, perhaps sooner.

Although the dates are still a secret, Oppo has confirmed that, similar to the Chinese models, the global versions of the Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro will be premium, camera-focused phones with quad-camera setups tweaked with Hasselblad. Things to look out for will probably be: Hasselblad Portrait Mode and Master Mode.

Oppo has also confirmed that the Find

Oppo Find X8 Series cameras

Since the focus of the Find X series phones is on camera performance, let’s first look at what the two X8 phones add. There seems to be improvements in every area. Find X8 Pro features four rear cameras, including a 6X camera that uses the innovative Triple Prism Folded Lens to save space and weight and still enable long optical zoom. All four cameras use 50-megapixel sensors. Two of the cameras have periscope lenses: 6X and 3X. Three of the cameras, except the ultra-wide camera, have optical image stabilization.

The Find X8’s rear camera setup is similar but has three cameras. It lacks the 6X telephoto camera that the Pro phone has.

Oppo says that in addition to the hardware, the camera software has also been improved. The company says the Find X8 camera system will use AI-powered Telescope Zoom, a software feature that allows users to click sharper zoomed-in photos. Oppo states that the Find X8 series will offer zoom from 10x to 120x, allowing users to capture distant objects without compromising image quality.

For video, the Find X8 series supports Dolby Vision recording. Additionally, Oppo also offers a Quick Button, similar to the iPhone’s Camera Control, that allows users to activate the camera with a single tap.

The rest of the Find X8 hardware and features

What else can we expect? Although Oppo keeps many details secret, we expect the global version to have similar specifications to the Chinese versions. Oppo Find X8 and Find X8 Pro were launched in China with LTPO OLED displays with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hz. While the Find X8 has a 6.59-inch display, the Pro version offers a larger 6.78-inch display with micro quad curvature. The highest brightness in HDR mode on both screens reaches up to 4,500 nits.

The Find X8 series is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 chipset under the hood. The chipset is making a lot of noise, and judging by early reviews, it could be the fastest chipset in Android phones this year, even ahead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite. Oppo has also included an advanced cooling system inside the Find

Both the Find X8 phones run ColorOS 15 and offer upgraded user interface with AI improvements. Meanwhile, the battery capacity is impressive: the Find X8 packs a 5630mAh battery, and the Pro version packs a 5910mAh battery. Both devices support fast 80W wired and 50W wireless charging and are IP69 rated for dust and water resistance.

Pricing and availability in India

Coming to pricing, Oppo has launched its new flagship in China in new colors like Starfield Black, Floating Light White, Chasing Wind Blue and Bubble Pink at a starting price of CNY 4,199 (approximately Rs 49,551). The higher variant, Find X8 Pro, has been launched in Hoshino Black, Cloud White and Sky Blue colors and starts at CNY 5,299 (approximately Rs 62,536).

Now coming to India, we expect the Find X8 to be priced around Rs 50,000, while the Find X8 Pro is likely to be priced closer to Rs 65,000.
