“Voice of Hope, The Story of the Possum Trot” will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, at Winfield Township, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, St. It will be shown in the church hall at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.

The movie is rated PG-13 and will feature free pizza, popcorn and drinks.

The story tells of a 1996 incident in the Possum Trot forest in East Texas where 22 families linked arms and adopted 77 of the hardest-to-place children in the state’s foster system.

The group’s courage and faith sparked a national movement to solve the foster care crisis and change the lives of vulnerable children across the United States, according to a news release from the church.

A G-rated movie will be available for children too young to watch the main movie.
