Authorities say Pembroke man died after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in Norwell

A Pembroke man died Thursday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Norwell, according to the office of Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

In a statement from Cruz’s office, 28-year-old Jacob Foss was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle at 111 Pond St. It was reported that he crashed into a Toyota Tacoma in the area. Foss was taken to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries, where he was pronounced dead, according to the statement.

Authorities said emergency responders arrived at the scene at 1:30 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a crash between a truck and a motorcycle.

The operator of the pickup truck, whose identity was not released, was also taken to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Pond Street was closed to one lane of traffic for several hours while the investigation was conducted, authorities said.

The preliminary investigation found that the pickup truck, traveling eastbound on Pond Street, was trying to turn left into a business lane when it was struck by the passenger side of the motorcycle driven by Foss, the statement said.

The investigation into the accident continues.
