STORRS, Conn. (WFSB) – UConn police launched an investigation Thursday night after a student implied he had a gun.

A student entered the Connecticut Dining Hall on Thursday night, made hand gestures that implied he had a gun, and yelled at students to get on the floor.

No weapon was found and no injuries were reported, according to UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz.

Although the student involved has not been identified, he has been identified and may be subject to sanctions, including expulsion, under the student code of conduct.

They may also face criminal charges.

The investigation is still open.
