Phoenix Suns Announce Current Status of Bradley Beal, Ryan Dunn and Dallas Mavericks

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns have made their final decision on two players injured tonight against the Dallas Mavericks.

The Suns have identified Bradley Beal as a probable prospect with a sprained right elbow and will be served tonight, according to head coach Mike Budenholzer.

Rookie forward Ryan Dunn was removed from the game after being listed as questionable with a left ankle sprain.

Beal has been dealing with the injury for more than a week but has only missed two games.

“Brad is the heart of this team, so it’s always necessary for him to be there and his energy to be there. Devin Booker said about Beal: ‘When he’s on the bench he’s still vocal, but when he’s on the court with us it’s a different dynamic.

“I saw him catch his elbow after the last free throw, so that might still be bothering him. “We just have to fix it, get it back, and move on.”

Behind Kevin Durant and Booker, Beal is Phoenix’s leading scorer at 15.5 points per night and shooting just over 48%. His 1.7 steals per game also leads the Suns.

Dunn suffered a sprained ankle in Wednesday night’s win over the Miami Heat and has been one of the league’s best surprises since Phoenix made him a late first-round pick on draft night over the summer.

Dunn’s defense was up to par, but more importantly, he shook off rumors that he couldn’t shoot at the next level, making 39.4% three-pointers early in his career.

Tim Bontemps of ESPN he offered this on Dunn earlier this week:

“Several scouts told ESPN this week that they believe Dunn can be a reliable threat from beyond the arc, an ideal fit for a roster lacking plus wing defenders other than O’Neale. Phoenix is looking to deepen its roster by drafting Dunn and Oso.” Ighodaro did a good job, and Tyus Jones, Monte Morris and Mason Plumlee were added in free agency.”

He will definitely be missed tonight; Look for Royce O’Neale or Josh Okogie to get more minutes in his place.

Suns-Mavericks is set for 5:30 p.m. Phoenix time.
