WILLOW SPRINGS, N.C. (WTVD) — A manhunt continues after someone got angry in traffic and opened fire on a woman and her children.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the incident, which began around 3 p.m. Friday.

The suspected shooter has not been caught or identified. Investigators said the suspected gunman was in an SUV, but there was no other description of the vehicle.

Deputies said the incident occurred on Interstate 40 between the Clayton Bypass and N.C. 210.

The woman and her children were not injured, deputies said.
