Intense weather: Red Flag Warning extended until Saturday, fire risk remains

A Red Flag Warning for Massachusetts on Friday will remain in effect through Saturday as humidity remains low and wind gusts increase.

The warning will be in effect for all of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, according to the National Weather Service.

“We expect relative humidity as low as 25% and wind gusts as high as 35 mph,” forecasters said. Publish on X. “Fires can start and spread quickly; avoid burning outdoors.”

Forecasters predict temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s on Saturday, with 50 degrees expected in Boston.

Light rain is expected to fall Sunday, possibly totaling 1.2 to 1-1/2 inches, and continue through Monday morning, forecasters say.
