Spread and Over/Under Predictions for WVU and UMass

West Virginia They will look to improve to 2-0 on the season when they host the UMass Minutemen on Friday night at 7pm EST.

1 Star – Not so sure
2 Stars – A little overconfident
3 Stars – Pretty confident
4 Stars – Very confident
5 Stars – Must be a crash

1-star game at West Virginia (-9.5): The Minutemen have the length and size in the frontcourt to compete in the interior. Teams coached by Frank Martin always play hard, brave and combative, and this team is no different. However, West Virginia’s offensive firepower is too much for UMass over the course of a 40-minute game. UMass will keep it close for 30 minutes or so, but WVU needs to be able to pull away late and win by double digits.

1 star game below: West Virginia jumped out to a 30-2 start against Robert Morris in the opener last night, and much of that was due to the tenacity of the defensive end of the field. I’m still a little unsure about how high-scoring WVU’s games will be this season, but I’ll lean towards the lower end even though we missed out on scoring in the opener. This number seems about right, but it’s only one or two notches too high.

ATS: 1-0 (100%)
O/D: 0-0 (0%)
Overall: 1-1 (50%)
