Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) has harsh words for his party and its former standard-bearer, the Vice President Kamala HarrisIn a new interview with New York Times.

Gluesenkamp PerezWinning his re-election bid despite being seen as one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the House of Representatives Times About “His thoughts on Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.”

His answer wasn’t very flattering.

“When Harris first came out, I was open to talking to him. I know you are looking for many of my colleagues; “He never called me,” she replied, later noting that she “only interacted with Harris once, at the Naval Observatory Christmas party.”

“I’m not very comfortable with this kind of thing. I had just had a few beers and noticed that the wreaths were almost all plastic. There are a lot of Christmas trees growing in my area,” he recalled. “I was very strong while taking pictures. I said, ‘Mr. Vice President, we grow these where I live.’ He walked away from me. Maybe there was some eye-rolling. My point was that it was important for the people where I lived. It’s a cultural respect. I didn’t think he understood what I was trying to say.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gluesenkamp Perez complained that his party was disrespecting voters’ concerns.

“I was talking to a woman who runs one of the largest labor and delivery wards. He said 40 percent of babies there have at least one parent addicted to fentanyl. Tell them that’s their problem, or take border security seriously? he said. “People are putting their groceries on their credit cards. “If you try to dissuade them from their experiences with data obtained from some economists, no one will listen to what you say.”

When asked if he thought “the Democratic Party is going to have to change after this crushing election cycle,” the congressman observed: “It’s a lot easier to look outside and blame and demonize other people than to look in the mirror and see what we can do. It’s fun to feel responsible.” It requires painful mental flexibility.”

“So who knows?” he concluded.
