Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour returns to competition at the Swiss Cup

After realizing his dream and making history in the process, the Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour It is back in action this week and will compete in the Swiss Cup in Zurich on Saturday, November 9th.

Nemour says a second Olympic Games in LA 2028 is his ultimate goal.

“I will start training again, continue to compete for my club and Algeria and hope to go until 2028. This is the aim of restarting the Olympic cycle,” he said.

And despite his historic victory, Nemour feels there is still more to achieve.

“I can do things on the beam and anywhere, too,” he said. “We competed with three or four other gymnasts for third place (in the overall final), so I think I can do it. “I still have four years to perfect my skills and then I will experience my first Olympic Games, so I hope for the best.”

It’s all part of the legacy he hopes to leave behind for Algerian gymnastics. It’s the first but he hopes it won’t be the last.

“I think I inspire little girls who see me in videos and competitions every day, and I am happy to pass on my passion to them through gymnastics,” Nemour said.
